In 1973 Millard Arnold was awarded first prize for colour photography in the annual Association of the Bar of the City of New York exhibition and in 1978 won first prize in photography at the Kalorama Art Gallery annual exhibition in Washington D.C. His show, Faces was exhibited at the African Art Gallery in Covent Gardens, London in 1972. He held a one-person photographic show entitled Images at the Ronald H. Brown Center, Illovo, Johannesburg in 1999 and recently held a one person show entitled "Seeing..." at the Ron Belling Gallery in Port Elizabeth South Africa. His photographic works have also been published in the Washington Post Newspaper, exhibited at the National Geographic Society and are in the private collections of a number of multinational corporations. Mr. Arnold, formerly an Executive Director of Murray & Roberts, is chairman of the Tactic Group, and a non-executive Director of Petmin. He is a Senior Fellow at the Gordon Institute for Business Science and a member of Council of the University of South Africa. Millard Arnold holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Notre Dame. Formerly the executive chairman of Black & Veatch Africa, Mr. Arnold was the first ever U.S. Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs for South and Southern Africa. Mr. Arnold has also served as the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs. Mr. Arnold was professor of law at Touro University and adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law School. He was a journalist for the Washington Post newspaper and a Senior Fellow at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He is the author of Steve Biko: Black Consciousness in South Africa and Steve Biko: No Fears Expressed. In addition to his accomplishments as a photographer, Mr. Arnold is a published poet, artist, and actor appearing in such films as Ali with Will Smith; Borderline, A Critical Assignment and Diamonds.
